In our previous articles, we talked about Angel Therapy, Law of Attraction and Reiki. On the demand of our readers, in this article, we are going to cover something very interesting – Tarot Card Reading.

It is something which we all have heard of and would definitely want to try if given a chance.
Before we know about the tarot cards, it will be interesting to know its history. The Tarot is probably one of the most popularly used tools of divination in the world today. The Tarot reading can be dated back to the fourteenth century.
Artists in Europe created the first playing cards, which were used for games, and featured four different suits. These suits were similar to what we still use today – staves or wands, discs or coins, cups, and swords. After a decade or two of using these, in the mid-1400s, Italian artists began painting additional cards, heavily illustrated, to add into the existing suits.
Was it created as a divination tool from the very start? It appears that divination with playing cards started to become popular in the late sixteenth and early seventeenth century, although at that time, it was far simpler than the way we use Tarot today.
Types of cards
A traditional deck has 22 Major Arcana (or trumps) which are the archetypal images. There are 56 Minor Arcana cards, sixteen Court or Personality cards; the Kings, Queens, Princes, and Pages, just like modern playing cards. There are four elements or suits: Fire, Earth, Air, and Water, with 10 cards in each. There are no inherently negative cards.
How do tarot cards work?
The process is known as synchronicity, a term coined by psychologist Carl Jung to describe the temporally coincident occurrence of events. In synchronicity, there is no distinction between inner and outer. The choice of a card is exactly what your higher self already knows. This is what tarot occultists call the conversation with your higher self. The cards always work. It’s not magic—tarot cards are a sacred mirror.
Does it change your life?
A common misconception about Tarot readings is that they will help you change your life overnight.
While the Tarot cards might provide insight or present you with options about your future, reading is only there to provide guidance. If you want things in your life to change, you have to actually act on the advice that your Tarot reader is giving you.
